The court has granted two-day remand to the two accused arrested in the case of killing the wife of Saudi Arabian expatriate Manjil Mia and her two infant daughters in Hossainpur of Kishoreganj.
On Tuesday afternoon, the police produced the accused before the Kishoreganj Senior Judicial Magistrate Court and asked for a five-day remand. After the hearing, Senior Judicial Magistrate Jinnat Ara granted their two-day remand.
Hossainpur police station OC Asaduzzaman Titu said that the remand hearing of these three murder cases has been held. We applied for 5 days remand. Court granted 2 days police remand after hearing.
It is to be noted that on the morning of November 14, the bodies of Tashlima Akhtar (35), wife of Saudi expatriate Manzil Mia, eldest daughter Mohana (11) and younger daughter Banya (7) were recovered from two separate beds in their house in Basurchar village of Hossainpur upazila of Hossainpur upazila in Kishoreganj. By the police Kabirul Islam Nayan, brother of the slain housewife, filed a murder case against unknown persons at Hossainpur police station as the plaintiff.
Police arrested Jahangir Alam (45) and Zahirul Islam Choton (33) from Basurchar village of Sahedal Union of Hossainpur upazila on the evening of November 15. Arrested Jahangir Alam is son of deceased Abdus Sobahan of Basurchar village of Sahedal Union of Hossainpur upazila and Zahirul Islam Choton is son of deceased Abdur Razzak of the same village.
