Jalpaiguri: The family went to court accusing the doctors and nurses of negligence in the death of the newborn. The father of the dead newborn has filed a case against the doctors and nurses in the Jalpaiguri court.
Last Thursday, a woman from Vemtia area of Dhupguri was admitted to Dhupguri Rural Hospital with labor pains. After she gave birth, problems arose. But the family complained that no doctor or nurse was found at that time. The mother and child were then shifted to Jalpaiguri. The child was referred to North Bengal Medical College as his condition was critical. The child died early Friday morning. The family has accused the doctors and health workers on duty of negligence in this incident.

The father of the dead newborn has filed a case seeking punishment of the doctors and nurses responsible for the incident. After the first hearing, the judge ordered the police to accept the complaint and start investigating the incident.
