A sales representative of Pran Company died after being stabbed by robbers after he was prevented from extorting money from the sale of products in Naogaon. The incident took place in Chakla area of ​​Bakhtarpur Union around 7 pm on Monday.

The deceased Mamunur Rashid alias Mamun (42) is the son of Jewel Hossain of Matasagar Fatepur village of Naogaon Sadar Upazila. He was a Delivery Sales Representative (DSR) of Pran Company.

According to the police and eyewitnesses, Mamun was returning to the company’s office in Naogaon in the evening in a battery-powered van after delivering goods to different areas of Sadar and Badalgachi upazilas. On the way, when he reached Chakla area, two motorcycle-borne robbers blocked his way and tried to snatch the money from the sale of goods from Mamun. When Mamun resisted, the robbers cut him with sharp weapons and injured him. The robbers ran away when the people nearby rushed to his screams. Locals quickly rescued him and admitted him to Naogaon Sadar Hospital.

Naogaon Sadar Hospital emergency department doctor Rakib Hasan said that Mamun was brought to the hospital with serious injuries. His arms, chest and back were hit with sharp weapons. He died of excessive bleeding around 7:30 pm.

Naogaon Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Faisal Bin Ahsan said that a police team led by the Additional Superintendent of Police of Naogaon Sadar Circle visited the spot after receiving the information. The body of the deceased was handed over to his family after the post-mortem was completed on Tuesday morning.

The OC also said that the family of the deceased has filed a case in the police station and detectives have started work to identify the killers.
