The Dhaka-bound Rangpur Express train from Rangpur derailed at Tangail. In this incident, railway communication between Dhaka and North Bengal was stopped for about 9 hours. The accident happened on Tuesday (November 21) around 5:30 am near Gharinda railway station in Tangail.

Meanwhile, rail creep was not found at many places along the nearly three-kilometer railway line before the accident site. Because of this, the locals believe that an accident may occur.

On the surface, it was seen that in the Betar area of Tangail Sadar of the Dhaka-North Bengal railway line, where the Rangpur Express train was affected by the accident, rail creep was not seen in different places in the area of about three kilometers before that. Later, after the accident, the railway men removed one of the two clips from one of the sleepers and put it where it was not. The train was not the only one affected by the accident. About two kilometers of railway line has been damaged.

After the derailment of the Rangpur Express train at Tangail, the railway connection between North Bengal and Dhaka was stopped for about 9 hours. As a result, the passengers had to suffer by getting stuck at various stations. Earlier, the train met with an accident in Betar area of Sadar Upazila.

Many people in Rasulpur area said that many places on the railway line do not have rail clips. In many places, instead of iron clips, bamboo has been used.

The workers working on the railway line said that many places of the railway line do not have iron clips. Gaps are filled with one clip each where there are two.

However, no railway official agreed to comment on this matter.
