A salesman of Pran Company was hacked to death in Naogaon. On Monday (November 20), miscreants hacked and injured the worker in Bakhtarpur area of Sadar Upazila around 6 pm. He later died at Sadar Hospital around 7:30 pm while undergoing treatment.
The name of the deceased is Mamunur Rashid (45). He is the son of Jewel Hossain of Matasagar Fatepur village of Sadar Upazila. He was working as Delivery Sales Representative (DSR) of Pran Company in Naogaon district.
According to local sources, Mamun was returning to the company’s office in Naogaon town in a charger van after delivering goods to different areas of Naogaon Sadar and Badalgachi upazila on Monday around 6 pm. On the way, miscreants blocked his way in Chakla area of Bakhtarpur Union of Naogaon Sadar Upazila. The miscreants tried to take the money from him. As they did not agree to pay the money, the miscreants attacked them with sharp weapons. At that time, when Mamun screamed, the people around ran away and the miscreants ran away. Later the locals rescued him and took him to Naogaon Hospital. He died while undergoing treatment there around 7:30 pm.
Naogaon Sadar Hospital emergency department doctor Rakib Hasan said, ‘The stabbing patient (Mamunur Rashid) was brought to the hospital around 6:30 in the evening. He died of excessive bleeding around 7:30 pm. His two arms, chest and back were injured with sharp weapons.’
Naogaon Sadar Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Faisal Bin Ahsan confirmed the information and said, ‘After receiving the news, a team led by Naogaon Sadar Circle Additional Superintendent of Police Gaziur Rahman visited the spot. Investigation is on to identify the killers. In this case, the preparation of the case is going on.
