Auto driver’s throat cut body recovered from Lalmai Pahar area, killer arrested

The police recovered the strangled body of a teenage auto-rickshaw driver from the side of a graveyard in Lalmai Pahar area of ​​Comilla. The 13-year-old boy’s name is Mehdi Hasan. He is from Bashantali Nowabari of Khoshbas North Union of Barura Upazila of Comilla. Kasem’s son.

In this incident, the police arrested a young man named Nazmul (25). The young man confessed to the murder and gave a statement in court. Arrested Nazmul Barura Khoshbas is the son of Nazeer Mia of Magon Bari of Ilashpur village in North Union.

On Tuesday (November 21), the matter was confirmed by the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Barura Police Station. Feroz Hossain.

OC said that on the morning of November 19, Mehdi Hasan left his house in an auto-rickshaw. When Nazmul Hossain arrived in front of Ilashpur Chairman Market, he took a fare to go to Kalir Bazar in the nearby Adarsh ​​Sadar Upazila. The driver went to the ink market and told Mehdi that there is a seedling tree on the north side of the Hatigara cemetery on the nearby Lalmai Hill. I will take them. Along with Nazmul and Mehdi, he agrees to go as he is familiar with the village. Nazmul first hit Mehdi in the stomach with two blows inside the bush. He fell to the ground and cut his throat. After the death was confirmed, Nazmul took Mehdi’s autorickshaw and went to his father-in-law’s house in Gouripur of Daudkandi Upazila in Comilla.

Meanwhile, as he did not return home, Mehdi’s father found out that Nazmul had taken his son Mehdi’s autorickshaw rental. No one has seen him since he left.

Mehdi’s father complained to the police station in this incident. Police arrested Nazmul along with an auto-rickshaw from his father-in-law’s house at Gauripur in Daudkandi around 2.30 am on Monday.

OC Feroz Hossain also said that during the interrogation, Nazmul first gave various wrong information about the incident. After the CCTV footage showed Nazmul going alone in an auto rickshaw with Mehdi, he admitted the details of the incident and described the murder. Later, according to his information, the body of the autorickshaw driver Mehdi was recovered from the Hatigara graveyard of Lalmai Hill that night.

The OC said that Nazmul, who was arrested on Tuesday afternoon, gave a statement in the court admitting the murder under section 164. Later he was sent to Comilla Jail.
