To ensure security, gatherings are prohibited in Berobi after 9 pm
Mostafizar Bablu, Rangpur:  To maintain the security of the Begum Rokeya University (Berobi) campus and to avoid electrical accidents, the university authorities have ordered the temporary closure of outdoor games, events and gatherings including badminton after 9 pm.
 This information was informed in a circular signed by the registrar of the university, Engineer Alamgir Chowdhury, on Monday (November 20).
 In order to maintain the overall security of the campus and to prevent fire from electrical accidents and short circuits, Begum Rokeya University campus outdoor gatherings (other sports and events) have been ordered to be temporarily closed.
 Those concerned are calling such instructions of the university as taking away the basic rights of ordinary students.
 Students expressed their anger on the social media Facebook about the matter. One of them commented on Facebook and said, Is this a university? Badminton is played at night during this winter season. And this big decision at this time? The thing is, students’ rights are being taken away. Strongly condemned.
 Syed Anwarul Azim, Director of Student Counseling and Guidance Office, said that this has been done thinking about the students of the university. This decision has been taken in many universities. I don’t know why they took it. But we have taken this decision considering the overall safety of the students.
