Two days after the disappearance, the body was found in Alibahar’s tea garden

The airport police recovered the body of a person from Ali Bahar tea garden in Sylhet city. The body was recovered on Tuesday (November 21) afternoon.

The name of the deceased is Sitesh Chandra Gop. He is the son of shepherd Chandra Gop of Ghosh Para of Habiganj Sadar.

It is known that on November 16, Sitesh brought his pregnant wife to Sylhet’s Ragib Rabeya Medical College Hospital for Caesarean section. Wife gave birth to child after successful surgery on Saturday. However, Sitesh Chandra Gop went missing since Sunday evening. Sitesh’s relatives filed a general diary at the Jalalabad police station without finding any trace.

On Tuesday, the locals informed the police when they saw the body lying in the tea garden. Additional Police Commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police Sadek Kawshar Dastgir, Assistant Police Commissioner (Airport Zone) Zahirul Islam, OC Moin Uddin of Airport Police Station came to the spot immediately after receiving the news. Gopesh Chandra Gop, brother of deceased Sitesh Chandra Gop, identified the dead body.

Zahirul Islam, Assistant Police Commissioner of Airport Police Station, said, “We came to the spot immediately after receiving the news and recovered the body.” Initially, it seems that it could be a planned murder. We are looking into the matter. The body has been sent to Osmani Hospital for postmortem.
