A teenager named Jai Islam was beaten to death on suspicion of being a thief in Bogra. Police arrested three people in this incident and sent them to jail. They were sent to jail by the court on Monday evening.
Earlier Joy’s father Swadhin Islam filed a murder case at Bogra Sadar police station. In the case, 10 people have been named and 20 unknown people have been accused.
The three accused sent to jail are Ashraful Islam and Motu Islam, sons of deceased Maqbul Master of Kazi Nooril village of Lahiripara Union of Bogra Sadar Upazila. The other accused is Ashraful’s son Siam Hossain, a class 10 student.
According to the police, these three are the main accused in the Joy murder case. They are directly involved in this murder
Bogra Sadar Police Station Inspector (Operation) Faim Uddin, investigating officer of the case, said that Ashraful, along with his son and brother, beat up Joy severely after accusing her of theft. At that time they spread rumors in the village and beat up Joy to death. Efforts are on to arrest the rest of the accused in this incident.
Joy entered Motu’s house in Kazi Nuril village of Bogra Sadar around 10 pm last Sunday. Ashraful came out of the house on sensing Jay’s presence. At this time, Joy climbed a tree in fear. Later Motu and Ashraful pulled him down from the tree and started beating him. On the other hand, all the locals come to Motu’s house after getting the news that the thief has entered. Joy was then beaten up and died on the spot.
