Barakhata Union Parishad (UP) chairman Abu Hena Mostafa Jamal Sohail confirmed the recovery of the body to the daily newspaper. He said, ‘That woman was mentally unbalanced. No one can tell when the water in the pond is falling. Later, the locals found his body floating in the water of the pond and recovered it.

Hasna Khatun is the wife of deceased Fazle Rahman of Basuniapara of Barakhata Union of Hatibandha Upazila, said local resident brave freedom fighter Abul Hossain. He said, ‘Hasna Khatun became mentally unbalanced from about 6-7 years. Her husband died long ago. Has a son, he also lives in Dhaka. Hasna Khatun used to stay at home here.’

Abul Hossain also said, Hasna Khatun visited many houses in the area since this morning. Suddenly around noon, his younger brother Babu saw a saree floating in the water of local Gafur Ali’s pond. At that time, with the help of locals, they found that it was the body of Hasna Khatun. The body was recovered from there. We have informed the matter to the chairman.’

In this regard, Hasna Khatun’s younger brother Babu said, ‘When I went to the pond at noon, I saw a saree floating in the water. Later, with the help of the locals, I pulled it out and saw that it was my elder sister’s body.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hatibandha Police Station Shaha Alam said, ‘I have heard the matter. The woman’s family came to the police station. I am talking to them about this.’
