// Mashahid Ahmad, Moulvibazar : An allegation has been made against a father named Mehedi Hasan Khan (30) of Chhikrail village of Nazirabad Union No. 10 of Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila, who killed a 2-month-9-day-old baby girl in a sack and dumped the body in Narsingdi Srifulia area of Dhaka-Sylhet highway. 2 days after the incident i.e. on the morning of November 10, the police recovered the body in a sack from Srifulia area. In this incident, an OT working at Narsingdi Green Life Hospital has filed a case against husband Mehedi Hasan Khan at Shibpur Model Police Station of Narsingdi district for murder (Case No-8/322), Section-302/34, Penal Code, 1860, for the crime of conspiracy to murder). Nurse and victim’s wife Lovely Akhter Shakila (29). The other defendants in the case are – elder brother Majnu Khan (32) sister Lipi Begum (36) of Mehdi Hasan Khan (30) accused in the case. According to the statement of the case and the victim’s source, it is known – that nurse Lovely Akhter Shakila (29) working in Narsingdi Green Life Hospital (currently – Basail, mayor’s house, deceased: tenant of Kiran Haji’s house) along with Mehdi Hasan of Chhikrail village of No. 10 Nazirabad Union of Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila. A love affair developed with Khan (30). Last 05/08/2018 according to Islamic Shariah their marriage was completed. A daughter was born in their family. Current age of daughter Mehreen Afroz is 2 months and 9 days. Last November 8 evening, husband Mehedi Hasan Khan made his wife unconscious by mixing sleeping pills in tea and ran away with the milk born daughter in a bag sometime between 9 am and 5.40 am. The police of Shibpur Model Police Station recovered the body in a bag from Srifulia area after receiving the information at around 10 am on November 10. When asked about this matter, Lovely Akhtar Shakila, a nurse working at Green Life Hospital, gave the details of the incident over the phone and said, “My husband Mehedi Hasan Khan, on the advice of his mother and brother, gave me sleeping pills mixed with tea as per the pre-planned plan. On that day, he lovingly made me tea himself. When I woke up in the morning around 5.40 am, I found that my husband and daughter were not inside the house. Items are lying around. Not finding them anywhere, when the owner of the house and other tenants were informed about the matter, the owner of the house said that he saw Mehedi Hasan Khan leaving the house with a bag in his hand. When asked about this, the owner of the house, Rahima Akhtar, admitted the truth of the incident and said that Mehdi Hasan Khan and Lovely Akhtar Shakila have been living as tenants for a long time. They have a daughter in their family. On the night of the incident, Mehdi Hassan Khan was seen going out with a bag in his hand. When asked about this matter, Mehedi Hasan Khan’s mother Hajera Begum of Chhikrail village of Nazirabad Union No. 10 of Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila said – She does not know anything about these matters. Mehdi Hasan Khan is participating in the exam in the college. He is not aware of the child birth. Moreover, he cannot tell whose child the child is and how it died. Ashraf Uddin, chairman of Nazirabad UP No. 10, said that the matter needs to be verified.
