Armed Forces Day is today. The day will be observed with due dignity and enthusiasm. The President and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces gave separate messages on the occasion of the day. Sahabuddin and Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Hasina.
A press release of the Inter-Services Public Relations Department (ISPR) informed that the program of the day will begin with a special prayer after the Fajr prayer at the mosques of all cantonments, naval bases and air force bases in the country, wishing for the country’s welfare, prosperity and the future improvement and progress of the armed forces.
The President and the Prime Minister will lay wreaths at the Shikha Anirban of Dhaka Cantonment on Tuesday (November 21) morning, paying tribute to the memory of the members of the armed forces who sacrificed their lives in the Great Liberation War of 1971. After that, Army Chief General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed, Navy Chief Admiral Mohammad Nazmul Hasan and Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Sheikh Abdul Hannan will lay wreaths on behalf of their respective forces. The Prime Minister’s Security Adviser and the three Army Chiefs will pay a courtesy call on the Prime Minister at the Armed Forces Department and the President at the Banga Bhavan.
The Prime Minister’s Security Adviser, the heads of the three forces will exchange skills and spend some time with the Prime Minister in his own office designated for the Prime Minister in the Armed Forces Department located in Dhaka Cantonment. Later, the chiefs of the three forces will also pay a courtesy call on the President at Bangabhaban.
On the occasion of the day, the Prime Minister will felicitate the successors of Bir Shrestha and selected titled freedom fighters and their heirs at the Army Multipurpose Complex in Dhaka Cantonment. Apart from this, five Army, three Navy and three Air Force personnel will be awarded the Peacetime Medal for 2022-23.
Apart from this, a reception ceremony will be organized by the Prime Minister on the occasion of Armed Forces Day at Senakunj of Dhaka Cantonment on Tuesday afternoon. Among the invited guests are the speaker of the national parliament, chief justice, former president, leader of opposition in parliament, former chief adviser, minister and person of ministerial rank, state minister, person of state minister rank and many others.
To celebrate the day with due dignity, various programs will be celebrated at various army garrisons, naval and air force bases outside Dhaka. Specially equipped naval ships in Dhaka, Khulna, Chandpur, Barisal and Chittagong will be open for public inspection from 2 pm to 4:30 pm on Tuesday.
