A sales employee of Pran Company was allegedly hacked to death in Naogaon. The miscreants hacked and injured the worker in Bakhtarpur area of Naogaon Sadar Upazila around 6 pm on Monday (November 20). He later died at Naogaon Sadar Hospital around 7:30 pm while undergoing treatment.
The name of the deceased sales worker is Mamunur Rashid alias Mamun (42). He is the son of Jewel Hossain of Matasagar Fatepur village of Naogaon Sadar Upazila. Mamunur Rashid was working as Delivery Sales Representative (DSR) of Pran Company in Naogaon district.
Rakib Hasan, the doctor on duty of the emergency department, said that the patient was brought to the hospital in the evening. He died due to excessive bleeding. His two arms, chest and back were injured with sharp weapons.
Faisal bin Ahsan, OC of Naogaon Sadar police station, quoting eyewitnesses, said that Mamun was returning to the company’s office in Naogaon city in a charger van after delivering goods to different areas of Naogaon Sadar and Badalgachi upazilas around 6 pm. On the way, two motorcycle-borne miscreants blocked his way.
The miscreants tried to take the money from him. As they did not agree to pay, the miscreants attacked with sharp weapons. At that time, when Mamun screamed, the people around ran and the miscreants ran away. Later local people rescued him and admitted him to Naogaon Hospital. He said that he died while undergoing treatment there around 7:30 pm.
A senior police team led by the Additional Superintendent of Police of Naogaon Sadar Circle visited the spot after receiving information about the incident. Investigation is on to identify the killers. OC Ahsan also said that preparations are underway to file a case in this incident.
