Woman worker dies after being hit by a truck in Natore

Natore was hit by a truck. A woman worker named Sathi Khatun (25) was killed. Three others were injured. The injured are currently undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
The incident took place in Chandpur Pabnapara area of Rajshahi-Nator highway of Sadar upazila on Monday (November 20) morning.
Highway Police Officer OC Mofakkarul Islam confirmed the accident and said that Sathi Khatun was the wife of Himel of Jhalmaliya area of Puthia police station and she was a female worker of NATO Pran Company.
According to highway police and local sources, four laborers were going to NATO’s Pran company in an autovan on Monday morning. At that time, when he reached the Chandpur Pabnapara area of the Rajshahi-Nator highway of Natore Sadar Upazila, a truck from Rajshahi hit him hard from behind. The autovan overturned and 4 people were injured. The driver and the helper ran away leaving the truck. Later, the locals rescued four injured people including a woman and took them to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. Sathi Khatun died while undergoing treatment there. Currently three injured are under treatment.
OC Mofakkarul Islam said that the highway police reached the spot after receiving the information. The truck was impounded from the spot. The killer driver is on the run. Legal action in this regard is under process.
