In Harirampur of Manikganj, a man was allegedly beaten to death on suspicion of being a thief. Police has arrested one person for his involvement in this incident.
Police recovered the body of the person from Ailkundi Char area of Dhulshura Union of Harirampur Upazila on Monday afternoon.

Police did not immediately know the identity of the deceased. Arrested Asif Hossain (20) son of Abdur Razzak Mridha of Ailkundi Char.
According to police and local sources of Harirampur police station, two local youths named Asif Hossain and Naeem Sheikh saw the unidentified person roaming in Ailkundi Char on Sunday afternoon. Then in the evening, they arrested the man on the suspicion of cow theft and took him to a wood garden of the cowherd. Later, the unidentified person was tied to a tree with a rope and beaten to death with a stick. At that time, he captured the video of them being tied to a tree and beaten on their mobile phones.
On Monday morning, local people saw the body of the man lying in the wood garden and informed the police. After receiving the information, the police recovered the body from the spot around 2 pm. After that, the body was sent to the mortuary of District Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem.
Confirming the matter, Harirampur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Suman Kumar Aditya said, Asif confessed to beating the man to death on suspicion of cow theft. A video of him being tied to a tree and beaten was found on his mobile phone recovered from him. Asif and Naeem have been charged with murder in this incident.
