The blockade begins today for the fourth time in a row. Even though BNP-Jamaat activities were stopped between Friday and November 7, ordinary people are worried about the incidents of car vandalism and arson, cocktail explosions and clashes with the police.

According to Dhaka Metropolitan Police, 131 cases have been registered in eight categories of violence, police killing, explosives, bus fire and vandalism from last October 28 to last Saturday. 1 thousand 813 people have been arrested in these cases in the last 14 days. Also, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested 350 accused in 14 days across the country. Among them are the accused in the police killing case and the central leaders of BNP in various cases of violence including sabotage.

Passenger pressure was seen at bus terminals in Dhaka on Saturday around the 48-hour blockade program. Also, traffic jams were seen at the intersections of the capital due to the rush of public transport in the capital. Also, thousands of men and women left Dhaka at the Sadarghat launch terminal. Police Headquarters Deputy Inspector General (DID-Operation) Md. Anwar Hossain said that the police are active throughout the country to maintain the law and order situation. Police will take action if necessary against any vandalism. All Metropolitan Police, Range DIGs and District Superintendents of Police have been instructed to be alert. Police headquarters also directed to take immediate action against vandalism in public transport.

Director of Law and Media Branch of RAB, Commander Khandaker Al Moin, said that RAB arrested 26 people in connection with sabotage and arson on Saturday. In the last 14 days, RAB arrested 350 accused including the accused in the police murder case. More than 400 RAB patrol teams will be on duty to prevent sabotage in today’s siege. In addition, RAB will deliver long-distance public transport and goods from Chittagong and imported equipment to the appropriate place through SCORT.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Headquarters Public Relations Officer. Shariful Islam said that sufficient BGB patrol teams are working in the field for security of lives and property and against vandalism.
