A businessman was hacked to death in a rented house, the body was recovered by breaking the lock

The police recovered the body of a businessman from a rented house by breaking the lock in Abdullahpur village adjacent to Bhaberchar bus stand in Ghazaria, Munshiganj. Initially, the police believe that the deceased businessman was hacked to death with a sharp weapon.

The deceased’s name is Rahaful Khan (22). He is the son of Zahid Hossain of Charpathalia village of Bhaberchar union.

The deceased’s elder brother Hriday Khan said that Rahaful was a businessman by profession. He has a shop called New Nawabpur Electric on the second floor of Baushia Bhumukhi Unyan Samity Market, adjacent to Bhaberchar Bus Stand. Till now he used to go to the shop from his home Charpathalia village, but as he was late in returning home at night, he rented a room in the half-baked house of Wazed Ali in Abdullahpur village near the shop from November 1.

He said, on Sunday morning we came to know that Rahaful has not come to the shop for the last two days. He last spoke to our family members on Saturday morning after which his mobile number was switched off. After seeing his shop closed on Sunday morning, we went to his rented house around 12 noon. Went there and smelled bad smell from outside the room but the door was locked from outside. If we suspect the matter, we immediately informed the police, after breaking the lock in the presence of the police, we saw that Rahaful was lying on the sofa with marks of sharp weapon injuries in different parts of his body. Things are scattered around.

The deceased’s grandmother, Mumtaz Begum, said that the tenants of the room around where Rahaful was staying had locked the door and fled. Rahaful’s room was also locked from outside. It is clear from the circumstances of the incident that the killers killed him in a planned manner and escaped.

Regarding the matter, Ghazaria police station officer in-charge Molla Soheb Ali said that the body was recovered and sent to Munshiganj General Hospital for post-mortem. He is believed to have died sometime on Saturday night. Initially, we believe that he was hacked to death with a sharp weapon. I can give details after investigation.
