Another patient death occurred in a clinic on Muktasha Road in Rahanpur Municipal area of Gomstapur Upazila of Chapainawabganj. A housewife died after undergoing caesarean section on Saturday. It is said that the clinic authorities have settled the incident with the patient’s relatives in exchange of Tk 4 lakh.
It is known that Zolekha Begum (23), wife of Solaiman Ali of Golabari village of Kasba Union of Nachol Upazila, was admitted to the clinic for cesarean section on Saturday afternoon. The clinic’s full-time doctor, Dr., performed his operation in the evening. Shamim Reza Dr. was present as an anesthesiologist at this time. Zakaria Habib. Although he died shortly after the surgery, the clinic authorities concealed it and referred him to Ramek Hospital.
Later, when he tried to move his body to another place, local people stopped him. Later the police came and took away the body.
In this regard, OC Mahbubur Rahman of Gomstapur police station said that the body was handed over to the patient’s relatives on Sunday morning as they did not make any complaint.
Relatives of the patient said that we have made an agreement with the clinic authorities thinking about the future of the newly born child of the housewife.
It is to be noted that a housewife died after coming to this clinic for gall bladder operation on August 18.
In this regard, the clinic director Shaukat Ali said that the housewife was operated according to the proper rules. He said that he died due to breathing problem.
The two doctors who participated in the operation were contacted multiple times on mobile phones, but they did not receive.
Upazila Health Officer Dr. Abdul Hamid said that he has learned about the matter. Complaints will be investigated and action will be taken.
In this context, the district civil surgeon Dr. SM Mahmudur Rashid said, we will investigate the matter.
