The police recovered the body of a businessman from a rented house room in Abdullahpur village adjacent to Bhaberchar bus stand of Ghazaria upazila of Munshiganj.
His body was recovered by breaking the door of his room on Sunday (November 12) around 1 pm. The police said that he was hacked to death sometime on Saturday (November 11) night. Deceased Rahaful Khan (22) of Charpathalia village of Bhaberchar union. Son of Zahid Hossain.

Hriday Khan, elder brother of the deceased, said, ‘Rahaful has a New Nawabpur electronics product shop on the second floor of Baushia Bhumukhi Uyanan Samiti Market, adjacent to Bhaberchar bus stand. He used to go to and from the shop from Charpathalia village, but as he was late returning home at night, he used to rent a room in the house of Wazed Ali of Abdullahpur village next to the shop on November 1. I came to know on Sunday morning that Rahaful did not go to the shop for the last two days. Family members were last spoken to on Saturday morning. Since then the mobile number was switched off. We went to his rented house around 1 pm after seeing the shop closed on Sunday morning. When I went there, I could smell bad smell from outside the room. The room door was locked from outside. Report the matter to the police as it is suspicious. The police came and broke the lock of the room and found the body lying on the sofa. Sharp weapon injuries in different parts of the body including head, stomach and throat. Things were scattered around. The tenant of the room next to where Rahaful was staying has run away. He was hacked to death in a planned way.’
Ghazaria police station OC Molla Soheb Ali said, ‘The body has been recovered and sent to Munshiganj General Hospital morgue for post-mortem. I think, sometime on Saturday night, miscreants hacked him to death. The incident is under investigation. After the investigation, the mystery of the murder will be known.’
