RAB has arrested the accused Feni Jubo Dal president Zakir Hossain in the case of the policeman being beaten to death in Dhaka on October 28.
He was arrested from Muhammad Ali Bazar area of Feni on Saturday (November 11) midnight. Feni RAB-7 informed this information in a press release on Sunday (November 12) at 11 o’clock.
RAB says that arrested youth leader Zakir Hossain Jasim is accused number 88 in the murder case of Constable Amirul Islam. Case No-54 in Paltan police station. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir along with 164 people have been accused in this case.
Company Captain of RAB-7 in Fenisth, Squadron Leader Mohammad Sadekul Islam said that apart from this case, there are 13 cases against Youth Dal leader Zakir Hossain in Feni and Khagrachari on various charges including sabotage and attempted murder.
On the other hand, on the same night, RAB arrested three people including General Secretary Nasir Uddin Khandkar and handed them over to the police at Feni Model Police Station. Apart from this, police arrested district BNP joint convener Gazi Manik, municipal BNP convener Delwar Hossain Babul, Dharmapur Union Youth Dal’s Zia Uddin Patwari, Kalidhe BNP leader Mohiuddin and student leader Arman from the procession on Sunday morning.
Meanwhile, Jubo Dal Central Committee President Sultan Salahuddin Tuku and General Secretary (Acting) Shafiqul Islam Milton protested and condemned the detention of Feni District Jubo Dal President-Editor and Municipal Jubo Dal leader. The protest was announced on behalf of the party in a press release signed by Advocate Azizur Rahman Akand, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Dal Central Committee.
Incidentally, BNP leaders and activists clashed with the police in at least six areas. Apart from the policeman Amirul, a ward level leader of Jubo Dal was killed in the clash. Due to the clash, the BNP’s general assembly was canceled that day.
