An old woman named Ambia Begum (60) died mysteriously in Dinajpur’s Birampur. The death of the old woman has caused a stir in the area.

The incident took place in Devipur Dawlapara village of the municipality in the early hours of Sunday (November 12). Police recovered his body from his home.

The deceased Ambia Begum is the wife of Abdul Aziz Mondal of Devipur Dawlapara village in Birampur municipality.

The deceased’s husband, Abdul Aziz Mondal, said that his wife was suffering from mental illness for a long time. He was treated by various doctors. Sometimes he is healthy and sometimes he becomes mentally ill. Due to mental illness, he used to behave abnormally in various ways. Yesterday, Saturday night, after eating and drinking, he fell asleep on the balcony like every day. I woke up early in the morning to pray and found him hanging by a rope from the balcony. Hearing my screams, the locals came forward. I found my wife dead on the ground.

Birampur police station officer in charge (OC) Subrata Kumar Sarkar confirmed the truth of the incident and said that a case of wrongful death has been registered in the police station. Apart from this, the body has been sent to Dinajpur M Abdur Rahim Medical Hospital for post-mortem due to the mystery surrounding the death. The exact details of the death will be known after the autopsy report.
