Three people including two policemen were injured when the rear part of the police van got twisted. The accident took place in Panthichila area of Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Chittagong’s Sitakunda on Sunday morning.
Deputy Inspector (SI) of Sitakunda Police Station Nasir Uddin Bhuiyan confirmed the truth of the incident. He said that the scrap dump truck of AB Enterprises lost control and collided with the road divider while crossing the Panthichila area of the highway. At that time, the top of the dump truck came off and fell on the police van that was standing next to it.
The rear of the police van was twisted. In this incident. Two police constables named Sohail and Mangmyching Marma and a dump truck driver were injured. After the accident, they were rescued and given medical treatment at Upazila Health Complex.
Meanwhile, after the accident, the traffic on the highway was stopped for some time, but after the police van and the dump truck involved in the accident were removed, the traffic returned to normal.
Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Nur Uddin Rashed told Ajker Patrika that the two policemen and the dump truck driver who were injured in the accident were cut in several places and their skin was intact. After being admitted to the hospital, they were discharged after the first treatment.
