In Faridpur, two more people died of dengue in the last 24 hours (from Saturday 8 am to Sunday 8 am). They died while undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital, Faridpur. With this, the number of deaths due to dengue in the district stood at 128.
The persons who died of dengue are Munnaf (70) of Panchuria area of Goaland upazila of Rajbari and Moti Molla (55) of Nagarkanda upazila of Faridpur.
According to Faridpur civil surgeon’s office, 201 more people have been admitted to different hospitals of Faridpur due to dengue in the last 24 hours. Currently, 461 people are under treatment in various hospitals of the district. Since January this year, the number of dengue patients in Faridpur is 22 thousand 892. Out of this 22 thousand 303 patients have recovered and returned home.
Chiddikur Rahman, civil surgeon of Faridpur told Dhaka Post that the dengue situation in Faridpur has been in a bad condition for at least the last three months. However, the rate of infection has decreased slightly over the past few days.
