Samsung was the first successful manufacturer of foldable smartphones. The company’s Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold – two foldable series are very popular. But the price of the two series starts from 1 thousand dollars. Samsung is therefore working on making a low-budget foldable phone to reach a wider range of users.

According to the technology analyst company Trendforce, Samsung is trying to reduce the price of foldable smartphones by bringing low-budget devices to the market. The company will bring mid-range phones to the market next year.

It is not yet known for sure how much Samsung will keep the price of these phones. But sources said, the price of these phones can be 400 to 500 dollars.

In 2023, the lowest price of the foldable phone has dropped to 3,659 yuan. 2024 may see more brands launch low-cost foldable phones. Various brands will thus accelerate the sale of foldable phones. The cost of production has come down and the prices will come down as Chinese brands also make foldable phones.

1.6 percent of the total smartphone sales in 2023 are foldable smartphones and 18.3 million units of these phones have been sold. And in 2024, it may increase to 2.2 percent and 25.2 million units. And in 2027, it is expected to reach 5 percent and 7 billion units.

Manufacturers are working to improve the design and features of foldable phones. Dual foldable smartphones have some limitations, so companies have tried to develop triple foldable smartphones.

A Huawei employee, who did not want to be named, said the company has seen significant progress in the field of triple foldable screen devices. Huawei may launch two triple foldable smartphones in 2024.
