Purulia: An accused died in the murder of Jhaldar late councilor Tapan Kandu. The prisoner named Satyaban Pramanik died while in jail. According to sources, he felt ill while being a prisoner under trial in the correctional facility on Sunday morning. He was then taken to Purulia Medical College Hospital where he died.

Meanwhile, the district police did not want to comment on the case as it is under the CBI. But the actual cause of death will be known only after the autopsy. Incidentally, Tapan Kandur, Congress councilor of Ward No. 2 of Jhalda Municipality, was shot dead on the night of March 13. Three miscreants on a motorbike shot at him. Congress leader dies. After this murder, his nephew Deepak Kandu was arrested by the police. Two others were arrested for their alleged involvement in the murder. One of them was Satyavan. CBI took over the investigation of the incident. Originally, Satyaban was arrested by the Central Investigation Agency.

Investigating the incident, the CBI officials came to know that this person owns a hotel. He planned the murder sitting in that hotel. Detectives claim that he was in close contact with Tapan Kandu’s grandfather, Naren Kandu, who was arrested in connection with the murder. Satyaban was arrested as a result.
