Garment worker Jalal Uddin, who was shot four days ago in a clash with the police in Zarun area of ​​Konabari in Gazipur, died under treatment.

42-year-old Jalal was under treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. He died there on Saturday night, said Inspector of Medical Police Outpost. Bachchu Mia said.

Two people died in the clash last Wednesday. A 24-year-old garment worker named Anjuara Khatun died in the hospital on the same day.

Jalal son of Chan Mia of Kendua upazila of Netrakona district was the supervisor of Islam Garments in Gazipur. And Anjuara was a sewing machine operator in the same factory.

For the past few weeks, labor protests have been going on in the garment factories of Gazipur, Savar, Ashulia and Dhaka to demand an increase in wages. In this, the government announced to increase the minimum wage from 8 thousand taka to 12.5 thousand taka, but some sections of the workers continued their agitation demanding that the wage be increased from 23 to 25 thousand taka.

As part of this, workers of some factories in Gazipur protested last Wednesday and clashed with the police. Jalal, the supervisor of Islam Garments, was shot while going to the office in that clash.

Inspector Bachchu said that his body has been kept in the hospital morgue.
