
Another train accident. This time the Puri-New Delhi Purushottam Express (Purushottam Express) is affected by the accident. The driver applied the emergency brake as the overhead wire snapped. As a result, the train passengers were saved from major accidents. However, 2 passengers of the train died due to sudden braking of the moving train. The accident took place on Saturday afternoon in Jharkhand’s Koderma district.
According to sources, an overhead electric wire suddenly snapped near Koderma railway station in Jharkhand around 12:05 pm on Saturday. Immediately the Puri-New Delhi Purushottam Express came to a standstill with a sharp jolt. That caused many passengers to fall out of their seats. Two passengers also died. It is learned that the train was running at a speed of 130 km per hour at the time of the accident. In this condition, most of the passengers inside the room could not handle the emergency brake. However, it is not clearly known under what circumstances and for what reason the two passengers died.
According to railway sources, train movement was stopped in Koderma-Gomoh section of Dhanbad Railway Division for about four hours after the accident. After that Purushottam Express left for Delhi as soon as the situation came under control.
