The construction work of South Asia’s largest eco-friendly ‘Ghorashal-Palash Urea Fertilizer Factory’ at Palash in Narsingdi has been completed two months before the deadline. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is going to Narsingdi today to inaugurate the urea fertilizer factory.
After the inauguration, the Prime Minister will attend a public meeting organized by Awami League in the afternoon. After 19 years, the party president’s visit is in the mood of the festival among the leaders and workers. Administration and district Awami League have completed all preparations including security for the Prime Minister’s visit.
South Asia’s largest eco-friendly Ghorashal-Palash Urea Fertilizer Plant has already started trial production at Palash in Narsingdi. The factory will produce 2,800 metric tons per day and 9,24,000 metric tons of urea fertilizer per year.
After inaugurating the factory on Sunday morning, the head of government will attend the rally. Later will join the local Mosleh Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium public meeting. Although the capacity of the ground is 50 thousand, the leaders of the party hope to gather several lakh people in the public meeting.
Narsingdi Awami League president GM Taleb Hossain said, ‘We expect that the gathering will be more than the capacity of this field.’
Meanwhile, due to the Prime Minister’s visit, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), police and other law enforcement agencies have increased patrolling in Palash and Narsingdi towns. Closed circuit (CC) cameras have been installed at various points.
Narsingdi Superintendent of Police. Mostafizur Rahman said, ‘We are working to ensure flawless security. 110 RAB members will be with us. They will also coordinate with us to ensure the safety of the assembly.
Narsingdi Deputy Commissioner Dr. Badiul Alam said that the law enforcement forces will work in coordination with the Deputy Commissioner as per the plan.
