Happy Diwali today. The temple premises are decorated with lights to remove darkness, injustice and establish good and welfare.

According to the Sanatan scriptures Purana, Mother Kali came to death to remove injustice and oppression. The goddess came to give the message of the suppression of evil. Shyama Puja or Kali Puja is performed on the new moon day of the month of Kartik. In the evening of Diwali, temple premises, houses, business establishments are decorated with rows of lamps and the soft light of candles. Diwali symbolizes the victory of good energy over evil energy. To Sanatan religionists, therefore, Shyama Devi symbolizes the struggle for peace, unity and harmony.

In many areas of old Dhaka, including Shankharibazar, Tantibazar and Sutrapur, Shyama Puja is held in Mandap.

Kali Puja is organized at Ramana Kalimandir and Ma Anandamoyi Ashram, Siddheshwari Kalimandir, Bardeswari Kalimata Temple, Dhakeswari National Temple. Shyama Puja will be celebrated centrally at Dhakeshwari National Temple under the initiative of Mahanagar Sarvajanin Puja Committee. Prasad will be distributed among the devotees after the puja.

Bangladesh Puja Celebration Council President JL Bhowmik and General Secretary Professor Dr. Wished for Diwali. Chandranath Poddar. In the evening, thousands of lamps will be lit for the well-being of the nation. Devotees will offer Anjali at the end of Kali Puja at 12 midnight.
