The meeting will be held on Thursday (November 9) at 12 noon at the President’s office in Bangabhaban. EC Secretary Jahangir Alam confirmed this information to reporters at the Election Commission office on Wednesday (November 8).
At this time Md. Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal will meet Sahabuddin, Election Commissioner Md. Alamgir, Anishur Rahman, Rasheda Sultana, Brigadier General (Retd.) Ahsan Habib Khan and Election Commission Spokesperson and Secretary Md. Jahangir Alam.
The meeting was scheduled to take place on November 5, but it was postponed to November 9 by the President’s office. In this meeting, the EC will agree on the date of announcing the schedule of the upcoming National Assembly elections. This information is known from the sources of the Election Commission.
According to Election Commission sources, there is a long tradition of meeting with the President before announcing the schedule of national elections. After that the schedule of the upcoming national elections will be announced. The schedule is likely to be announced on November 14 or 15. Then the election will be held in the last week of December or the first week of January.
