The dead bodies of seven people who died in a tragic road accident at Hathazari in Chittagong have been brought to Dhoppara in Jora Union of Chandnaish. Zoara Union Parishad Chairman Amin Ahmad Chowdhury Rokon confirmed the matter.

Amin Ahmad Chowdhury Rokon said that five ambulances carrying the bodies of the victims left Hathajari at six in the evening and reached the area at around eight thirty in the evening. Seeing the dead bodies of seven people, including women and children, the people of Jowar were saddened.

Today Wednesday (November 8) morning, going to Joara Dhoppara, it can be seen that the people around are rushing to see the dead bodies. Relatives come and burst into tears. Joara chairman Amin Ahmad Chowdhury Rokon said that the incident of seven family members being killed in one accident has not happened in the entire Chandanish upazila. He said, ‘It is very difficult to give comfort to the bereaved people. We are assisting in the cremation of the dead bodies.’

A CNG autorickshaw bound for Fatikchari from the city and a bus bound for Chittagong from Fatikchari collided on Tuesday around 12:15. Seven people of the same family were killed and two injured on the spot. The deceased are Biplab Das (27), Bappa Das (32), Rita Rani Das (40), Srabanti Das (18), Varsha Das (10), Deep Das (3) and Digant Das (3). All of them are residents of the master house of Mohammadpur Dhoppara in Jora Union of Chandnaish Upazila of South Chittagong.

Quoting Babul Das, nephew of deceased Rita Rani Dash, Chairman of Jora Union Parishad said that they went to the Shraddha ceremony of deceased Rita Rani’s grandmother. They were killed in a tragic accident there.
