Personal Correspondent: Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi said that onion prices will not come down until new onions come in the market. He said, the price of muricata onion will start decreasing in the market next month.
He said these things at the secretariat on Wednesday (November 8). The minister said that stock of imported onion has been exhausted. It is not possible to import onion from India as the price has fallen.
He also said that imported potatoes have just started coming into the market. If more comes, the price of potatoes will decrease. At the same time, it will take another month for new potatoes to reach the market. Then the price will be affected.
The Commerce Minister said that if inflation does not decrease, it becomes impossible to reduce the price of goods. It must also be understood that it is not possible for the Ministry of Commerce to reduce the prices of all items until inflation comes down.
Tipu Munshi said that if the media broadcasts positive news about the prices of goods in the global market, it will not influence the voters. The price of goods has not increased only in the country but the picture is the same all over the world. However, after overcoming these, people will get the benefits in the future.
