The Event Technical Committee of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 has approved Anamul Haque Bijoy as a replacement for Shakib Al Hasan in the Bangladesh team. Anamul Haque Vijay, who played 45 ODIs, replaced Shakib due to an injury to his left index finger. Shakib sustained the injury while playing an 82-run innings against Sri Lanka in Delhi on Monday. He underwent an emergency X-ray after the game which confirmed a fractured left PIP joint. After that, the ICC Technical Committee approved Anamul Haque Bijay in the Bangladesh team. Anamul has been playing international cricket for more than a decade. He made his debut in ODI cricket in 2012. The wicketkeeper-batsman scored 1258 runs in ODIs in 45 matches with three centuries as well.
