The police recovered the body of a young man from an oil dealer’s shop on the side of the Dhaka-Tangail highway in Naozor (Flyway) area of Gazipur city. Later, the body was sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital morgue for post-mortem.
On Tuesday (November 7) around 8:00 p.m., the local residents informed the police after seeing the body of the oil trader on the side of the Dhaka-Tangail highway in Naojor area of the metropolis.
Deceased oil trader Rahim Mia (30) is the son of Chunnu Mia of Sadar Upazila of Jhalkathi district. He lived on rent in the house of one Arif Hossain of Naojo.
According to local residents and police sources, Rahim used to build a shop on the side of the Dhaka-Tangail highway in the Naozor area of the city and sell oil by car. On Tuesday night at around eight o’clock, Rahim was found dead on the counter inside his shop and reported to the police. His nose and mouth were bleeding. Later, when the people informed the Basan Police Station, the police recovered the body from the spot and sent it to the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital morgue for post-mortem.
Rafiqul Islam, inspector (investigation) officer of Basan police station in Gazipur metropolis, said that the body was recovered after receiving information that an oil trader had been murdered. Blood is coming out of his nose and mouth. He is believed to have been killed.
