A gas tank explosion occurred at Akkelpur LPG filling station in Jaipurhat. An employee of that filling station got burnt. Doctors said that most of his body was burnt.

The incident took place at the filling station located in Char Mathar Mor area of ​​Akkelpur municipality on Tuesday (November 7) around 10 pm. Firefighters arrived and brought the fire under control.

The name of the employee who was burnt in the fire is Saiful Islam (50). He is a resident of Hajipara Mohalla of Akkelpur Municipality.

Akkelpur Upazila Health Complex’s emergency department doctor Maksudul Hasan said that Saiful Islam’s entire body was burnt. He was referred to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Medical College Hospital with first aid.

Azizul Islam, an employee of the LPG filling station, said, I was on duty at 9 pm. Saiful did duty during the day. I’m a little late. Saiful was cleaning the pipes of the LPG station before handing over to me. I was outside at the time. Suddenly the LPG tank exploded and caught fire. This caused Saiful’s body to catch fire.

Leader of Akkelpur Fire Service Station Habibur Rahman said that the tank of LPG filling station exploded and caught fire. The employee of the filling station got burnt. We came to the spot and brought the fire under control.

Akkelpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahinur Rahman said that the LPG pipe was frozen. It was while cleaning the filling station that the tank exploded due to leakage. An employee was burnt. He was sent to Bogra.
