Dhaka University (DU) Chhatra Dal joint general secretary Farhan Arif was arrested while visiting Dhaka University with a friend. He is a student of Peace and Conflict Department of Dhaka University for the 2010-11 session and is currently studying in the Professional Masters course of Peace and Conflict Department.
It is known that on Tuesday (October 7) afternoon, Arif came to visit Dubai’s Curzon Hall. When he was arrested there and reported to the proctor’s office, the proctor handed him over to the police. It is not known who or who arrested him. However, the Chhatra Dal alleged that the work was done by the workers of the Chhatra League.
DU Chhatra Dal President Khorshed Alam Sohail said that Farhan Arif was arrested by Chhatra League while walking around his campus in the afternoon. He was later taken to Shahidullah Hall in Dubai.
Professor Dr. Proctor of the University in this regard. Maksudur Rahman said that he is currently a student of Dhaka University. Although earlier, his education is over. So we handed him over to Shahbagh police station instead of bringing him to proctor office. Later I came to know that there was already a case against him in the police station.
When asked who gave them away, he said that they were ordinary students. I don’t know if there was anyone from BCL.
When asked on the basis of which complaint he was taken to the police station, he said that while bringing him, the students mentioned various allegations against him. However, he did not make any clear allegations. DU Proctor said that he was given to the police for technical reasons.
Shahbag police station OC Noor Mohammad told The Daily Campus that we are thinking of sending him to Ramna police station. He will probably be transferred there. I don’t want to comment on this.
