Chittagong Bureau: The dead body of an old man was recovered from the hill behind the Faculty of Engineering of Chittagong University (CHB). He is a retired university security guard.

The body was recovered from the bamboo grove behind the faculty on Tuesday (November 7) around 3:30 pm. Deceased Monir Ahmed (75) lived with his family in the university area.

It is known that in the afternoon Jagdish Rudra, a cleaning worker of the Faculty of Engineering, saw the body lying in the bamboo grove and informed the security personnel. Later they went and recovered the body.

Jagdish Rudra said, ‘I left the water motor of the faculty and looked back and saw the bush empty. Moving forward a little, I see someone’s feet. Then I called my colleague Kajal Rudra. If the body looks like Monir’s brother, we take a picture and show it to his daughter. The girl identified her father.’

Monir’s son is the guard of the law faculty of the university. Tarek Mia said, ‘He has not returned home since he went out after Asr prayers yesterday (Monday). Jagadish, a sweeper of the engineering faculty, saw the body and came home and informed. I went and saw my father’s body.’

University proctor Dr. Mohammad Nurul Azim Sikder told Sarabangla, ‘The body has been taken to the police station. After the legal process, the body will be handed over to his family. If his family complains to us, if it is an unusual incident, we will certainly take legal action.’

Chabi’s chief security officer Abdur Razzak told Sarabangla, “Police came from Hathajari police station and took the body for autopsy.” It will be clear how the death happened when we get the post-mortem report.’
