A child student named Rajni Khatun (7) died after drowning in Chougacha, Jessore. The incident took place in Palua village of Pashapol union of the upazila on Tuesday afternoon. She is the daughter of Rezaul Islam of Palua village and a first class student of Government Primary School of the same village.
Liton Hossain Chougacha, uncle of the deceased, told reporters at the Government Model Hospital that Rajni is a first class student of Palua Government Primary School. At noon on the day of the incident, his father Rezaul Islam (my brother-in-law) went fishing in his pond near the house with a net. At this time he followed his father to the pond. After fishing, Rezaul came home and found out that his little daughter had gone to the pond. After much searching, he came to know that Rajni was playing by the pond. Then he saw his clothes floating in the water of the pond. With the help of local people, he was rescued and brought to Chougacha Government Model Hospital. The doctor on duty in the emergency department declared him dead.
In this regard, Shahidur Rahman Emon, a doctor on duty in the emergency department of Chougacha Government Model Hospital, said that the child died before being brought to the hospital.
Pashapol Union Parishad Chairman Ubaidul Islam Sabuj said that a child named Rajni died after drowning in Palua village. I went to the hospital the incident was really sad. In this incident, the family and the area of the deceased have fallen in mourning.
Chaugacha police station OC Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury confirmed the truth of the incident.
