Seven members of a family died in a collision between a bus and an auto-rickshaw in Hathazari, Chittagong.

OC of Hathazari police station said that the accident took place on the Chittagong-Khagrachari road in Charia area of ​​Hathazari on Tuesday. Moniruzzaman said.

The deceased are Rita Dash (35), a resident of East Zoara Mohammadpur village of Chandanish Upazila, her two daughters Srabanti Dash (16) and Varsha Dash (7), two twin sons Dig Dash (4) and Digant Dash (4), Rita’s son Biplab of Bhashur. Das (25) and Rita’s husband’s cousin Chinu Das (50).

Among them, Sravanti, speech impaired, was scheduled to give her SSC examination next year. Varsha studied in third grade.

Autorickshaw driver Biplab Majumder (28) and son of Chinu Das died in this accident. Bappa Das (30) was injured.

Moshiuzzaman, UNO ABM of Hathajari Upazila, told bdnews24.com that an auto-rickshaw collided with a Chittagong-bound bus in the area adjacent to Charia Ijtema Ground of Mirzapur Union.

Rita’s younger sister Dia Das told bdnews24.com that their grandmother died 11 days ago. On Tuesday, Rita was going to her father’s house in Fatikchari Shah Nagar area with her four children and relatives of her in-laws.

A local auto driver Biplab was sent to fetch their Fatikcharis from Nawanpara area. The autorickshaw met with an accident on the way.

Inspector Adil Mahmud of Highway Police Nazirhat outpost said that the bus was detained after the accident but the driver escaped.
