Two youths from Feni were killed in a motorcycle garage fire in Doha, Qatar, the family reported.
They are – Md. Main Uddin Manu Mia son of Dost Mohammad Bhuya village of Barahipur area of Feni municipality. Mahfuzur Rahman (35) and Mir Hossain Farhad (38) son of Abul Khair of Asimia Chowdhury village of Sonapur village in Zayalskar Union of Daganbhuyan upazila.
Feni Deputy Commissioner Mushammat Shahina Akhtar said that the incident took place in Firoz Abdul Aziz area of Doha on Sunday night local time.
Nazrul Islam, a member of Ward No. 8 of Zayalskar Union of Daganbhuya Upazila, said, “Farhad was living in Doha for about 10 years. He died in a fire after an explosion in a motorcycle garage on Sunday night. He has a son and a daughter at home.”
He said that after hearing the news of Farhad’s sudden death, his wife and family members are fainting again and again.
In this regard, Bahar Uddin Bahar, Councilor of Ward No. 7 of Feni Municipality, said, “Mahfuz used to work in that garage in Qatar for about 6 years. He last came home eight months ago. She has a nine-month-old child.”
When his death was announced on Monday, a shadow of grief descended on the house; He said that efforts are underway to bring the body to the country.
Feni Deputy Commissioner Mushammat Shahina Akhtar went to the house of deceased Mahfuz on Tuesday afternoon after receiving the news of the death of two expatriate youths.
At this time, the Deputy Commissioner assured the necessary cooperation to bring the dead body to the country.
Feni Superintendent of Police Zakir Hasan said that two youths of Feni were killed in Qatar explosion.
The families of the two youths said that a total of six people died in the accident. Among them is a young man from Noakhali.
