Rupganj: A discussion meeting and prayer ceremony was held in Rupganj of Narayanganj on the occasion of the killing of freedom fighters on November 7.
The meeting was held on the initiative of Upazila Awami League in Kendua area of Kanchan Municipality of Upazila on Tuesday afternoon.
Alhaj Shahjahan Bhuiyan, chairman of the upazila parishad and candidate for the boat symbol, spoke as the chief guest in the meeting under the chairmanship of Kanchan Municipal Mayor Rafiqul Islam.
District Awami League leader Khandkar Abul Bashar Tuku, upazila Awami League leader Kamal Hossain Kamal, former president of Upazila Chhatra League Aminul Haque Khokon also addressed the meeting.
At that time, the speakers said that after the killing of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family in 1975, some army personnel at that time became desperate to seize power. On November 7, they killed many army personnel. Therefore, the murderer and his accomplices cannot be brought to power in any way.
Later, a special prayer was offered with deep respect for the martyred freedom fighters, seeking the forgiveness of their souls.
