According to police sources, four or five unidentified people tried to take away the chain of the trawler which was tied to Nahidul Khan in Arial Khan river of Rajarachar in Kalkini on Tuesday morning. Locals realized this and chased with another trawler. After going some distance others ran away but they caught Milan Chandra Haldar. Later he was beaten. Kalkini police went to Kalkini police station and rescued Milon after receiving the information. Later, when he was taken to Madaripur Sadar Hospital, the doctor on duty declared Milan dead.

Deceased Milan Chandra Halder is the son of Kutti Chandra Halder of Harindwara area of ​​Kaukhali in Pirojpur. Police arrested Nahidul Khan (42), a trawler owner of Kolchari Shasttal area of ​​Alinagar Union of Kalkini, for questioning in this incident.

Dr. Madaripur Sadar Hospital Medical Officer. Abu Safar Hawladar said that the body of the deceased Milon has injury marks in different places. It is believed that he was beaten to death.

When asked about this, Kalkini Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Nazmul Hasan told Ajker newspaper that one person has been detained for questioning in the case of beating to death on the suspicion of being a thief. The body was recovered and sent to Madaripur morgue for autopsy. Necessary legal action is being taken in this regard.
