The accused filed a robbery case against the plaintiff and witnesses of the murder case

A case has been filed against the plaintiffs, witnesses and their relatives in the Ichamati village of Bagbati Union of Sirajganj Sadar Upazila, accusing them of extortion, vandalism and looting. The plaintiff alleged that this case was filed by making false allegations to save the accused from the murder case.

On November 2, Murshida Khatun, the younger sister of the main defendant in the murder case of two friends and the wife of another defendant, Abu Taleb, filed a case naming 25 people including the plaintiff in the murder case and accusing 10-15 others as defendants.

Hasibullah, investigation officer of Sirajganj Sadar police station, said that the case will be investigated. Action will be taken after investigation.

The mobile phone of the plaintiff Murshida Khatun given in the charge sheet of the case was contacted several times. But it was not possible to contact him as the number was blocked.

Habibur Rahman, the plaintiff in the murder case of two friends, said, ‘False cases have been filed against us to protect those accused who killed my brother and his friend. This is a completely false and fabricated case. This case has been filed for the purpose of harassment.’

Murshida Khatun mentioned in the charge sheet of the case, ‘The accused are relatives, extortionists, terrorists. Several criminal cases are pending against the accused. One Habibur Rahman Khan filed false cases against many people including my brother and husband. After the case was filed, the accused threatened to kill my family members. Fearing them, all the men in our house ran away, on that occasion, on October 29, the accused came to my house with iron rods, hammers, shawls, ramadas, bamboo sticks and abused me.’

It is further said, ‘At that time, the accused said that you have killed the people of our party, I will kill you too. We have to pay a contribution of 10 lakh rupees. At that time, when the plaintiffs and witnesses of the case protested, they broke the door of the house and created panic. They attacked houses and looted cash and vandalized furniture. The plaintiff in the case has suffered a loss of 83 lakh 20 thousand rupees.

According to the sources of the murder case of two friends, the family of Al-Amin Khan, son of Farhad Hossain of Ichamati village of Bagbati Union of Sirajganj Sadar Upazila, had a land dispute with the family of Haider Ali of the same village. As a result, on the night of October 19, Hyder Ali’s men attacked Ala-Amin Khan and his friend Al-Amin Sheikh with sharp weapons. Al-Amin Khan died on the spot due to a sharp weapon. His friend Al-Amin Sheikh was seriously injured. The locals rescued him and first admitted him to the 250-bed Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatunnecha Mujib General Hospital in Sirajganj. When his condition deteriorated there, he was referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital at night. He died on the morning of October 20 while undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Habibur Rahman, the elder brother of Al-Amin Khan, who was killed in this incident, named 31 people and filed a murder case against seven or eight unknown people.

The main accused in this case, Merajul Islam, son of Hyder Ali of Ichamati village of Bagbati Union of Sadar Upazila, Lokman Khan, Sabuj Babu Sheikh of the same village have been arrested by the police. They are currently detained in the district jail.
