The court has issued a warrant against one accused and granted bail to another accused in the case filed by Bangladesh Human Rights Sammilan-BAMAS in the case of the explosion of the septic tank of Ruhul Amin Bhavan under construction on Anwar Ullah Road, Ward No. 9 of Feni city. Plaintiff Adv. Jahangir Alam Nantu said that on Tuesday morning, Feni Senior Judicial Magistrate Ashekur Rahman ordered temporary bail to the main accused building owner Ruhul Amin and warrant against his son Nazmus Shahadat Sohag.

Before this, the court issued a summons against the accused after taking the report into account after the hearing on the morning of October 11.

In Janazah, this incident happened on the morning of July 26, 2022 at Anwar Ullah Road, Nazir Road. Three workers died on the spot. The deceased are Abdur Rahman Munshi, Nurul Islam Munshi and Moniruzzaman Munshi. They are three brothers. Their house is said to be in Ward No. 2 of Panchakaran Union of Moralganj Upazila of Bagerhat District.

These workers used to live in a rented room on the ground floor of the under-construction house and worked as day laborers at various places. As it rained in Feni on the day of the incident, they did not go to work and slept there. The roof of the ground floor and the second floor of the building were damaged due to the loud explosion due to the accumulation of gas in the septic tank of the house.

Four days after this incident (July 30th), a murder case was filed in the Feni court by the Chairman of Bangladesh Human Rights Association. Jahangir Alam Nantu. He said, after seeing the news published in the media, I filed a case because I thought the matter was a negligent death and a defect in the construction of the building.

Purna Chandra Mutsuddi, then Deputy Assistant Director of Feni Fire Service, said that the under-construction building did not have any system to remove the gas from the septic tank, as a result of which this accident may have occurred.

CID Feni Inspector Shamchul Islam said that the investigation of the three deaths in the septic tank explosion has revealed the negligence and arbitrariness of the building owner.
