Addressing former US President Donald Trump, a New York court judge, Arthur Ngoran, said that the courtroom is not a political stage. Trump must answer the judge’s questions there.
The judge said this at the hearing of Donald Trump’s business fraud case on Monday (November 6) local time.
The lawsuit alleges that Trump undervalued his businesses and properties while taking out the loans. Again, the value has been increased a lot during the sale of the property. The lawsuit against Donald Trump and his family is ongoing in a New York court. Initially, the judge declared the former US president guilty in this case. Trump took the stand to defend himself on Monday. There the judge directly questioned him.
Trump deflected every question the judge asked at the hearing. Most of the time he said the same thing again and again. Trump argued several times with Judge Arthur Ngoran.
Trump has already been fined twice for questioning the justice system and for contempt of court.
Former US President Trump said that Arthur never ruled in his favor. He is there to insult Trump. The trial is being held against Trump to embarrass him politically ahead of the 2024 election.
In response, Judge Arthur Ngoran said that the former president can make as many accusations against him as he wants outside the court. But, the courtroom is not a political stage. Trump must answer the judge’s questions there. The judge also commented that Trump is wasting the time of the court.
In this case, Trump can be fined 250 million US dollars. His business in New York may also close. In the coming days neither he nor his family will be able to do any business in New York. However, the current case differs from the other cases against him in one respect. Trump cannot be arrested in this case. Trump will not have any problem in fighting the election.
Trump said in court that no one has ever had a problem with his business activities. But the New York attorney general alleges that Trump made at least $100 million in extra income by falsifying property values, adding to his wealth. Trump, however, did not want to accept it.
Trump also publicly insulted the New York attorney as a ‘black woman’ and ‘out of control’.
