Dhaka: DMP’s Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit (CTTC) has arrested one of the other accused in the murder case of police constable Amirul Haque Parvez in the clash centered around the BNP rally in the capital on October 28.

He was arrested on Monday night (November 6) in a tip-off operation.

Initially, his name was not known.

DMP’s Media and Public Relations Department Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) KN Roy Niyati said that one of the accused in the murder case of police constable Amirul Haque Parvez has been arrested in the clash centered around the BNP rally. Details will be given in a press conference organized at DMP Media Center on Tuesday (November 7) at noon.

Earlier, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Ansar Uddin, President of Sunamganj District Jubo Dal, in connection with the murder of Amirul on November 3.

The next day, two accused named Shamim Reza alias Shinta Shamim and Sultan, convenor of Palashbari Youth Dal of Gaibandha, were arrested. Paltan Thana Police took them into seven-day police custody for questioning.

Apart from this, another person named Shahidullah Musulli of Purirkhal area of ​​Barguna Sadar has been arrested in the case. On October 31, the court remanded him for two days.

DB Mirpur Division Deputy Inspector (SI) Masuk Mia filed a case against 164 people including BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at Paltan police station on October 28, the day of police constable Amirul’s murder.
