What is the Supreme Court’s comment on air pollution?
This was the observation of the judge on Tuesday while hearing a case in the Supreme Court on excessive pollution and rise in AQI. Earlier, the top court of the country had banned betting on the occasion of Diwali. The Supreme Court is not willing to lift the ban on the sale of bets in any way. The court said, ‘Prevention of pollution is not only the responsibility of the court. A complete misconception. It is everyone’s responsibility.’
The top court of the country strongly commented, ‘It is not desirable to always have a political spin around this issue. Burning of hay should be stopped immediately. We don’t know how to stop it. But burning must be stopped now. which must be done immediately.’ A ban on stubble burning has been imposed in Punjab at the moment. In this context, Supreme Court Justice Sanjay Kishan said, ‘I recently went to Punjab. On both sides of the road, I saw mice burning straw for miles.’
