One more person died after being hit by a bus in Moghbazar Wireless Gate area of the capital. The deceased’s name is Shahjalal Montu (55). He died while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DHMC) around 6 am on Tuesday. At the time of the accident, he was crossing the road in a rickshaw at Moghbazar Wireless Gate. Earlier, another person named Aynal Howladar (40) died in the same incident.

Lawyer Abdul Bari, cousin of the deceased Montu, said that the deceased Shahjalal Montu was the son of Delwar Hossain of Nafaruddin Munsidangi village of Charbhadrashan upazila.
He lived with his wife and children in a rented house next to Kakrail Little Flower School. He was a paper cartoon dealer by profession.
Ramana Police Station Deputy Inspector (SI) Saidul Haque said that in view of the request of the family members of the deceased, the body was handed over to the relatives without post-mortem. Giving details of the accident, he said, a bus of Manzil Paribahan was coming down from Moghbazar flyover and was going towards Mouchak. On reaching Moghbazar Warlesgate area, the passenger bus lost control and rammed a rickshaw from behind and went over the road island. Aynal Howladar died on the spot.
Four others were injured. Among them, Shahjalal Montu died during treatment. A total of two people have died.
He said the bus was impounded immediately after the accident. But the bus driver is absconding. Our operation to arrest him is ongoing.
