Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) has arrested Chhatra Dal Joint Secretary Amanullah Aman, accused in the case of killing a police constable during the clashes on the day of BNP’s general meeting on October 28.
A CTTC team arrested him from Mahakhali bus stand area of the capital on Monday (November 6) afternoon.
Arrested Aman Ullah Aman is former General Secretary of Dhaka University Chhatra Dal and current Central Joint Secretary of Chhatra Dal.
The CTTC says the earlier directive was to demoralize the police, create an unstable environment. That is why he took a position with a large group to create chaos. He was also instructed to attack the police and kill them if given an opportunity. Policeman Amirul was brutally beaten to death. After implementing the previous instructions sent the picture to the High Command. After killing the constable, he posted a photo of himself on Facebook with a stick in his hand.
The names of those involved in the killing of the policemen along with Aman have been identified, efforts are on to arrest them, CTTC said.
