The newly elected mayor of Sylhet City Corporation (CCIC) Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury is taking office on Tuesday (November 7). He will take charge at the mayor’s office in Nagar Bhavan around 2.30 pm.
After that, the rally will be held at the Nagar Bhaban premises. Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment Affairs Minister Imran Ahmed will attend the rally as the chief guest.
CSIC election was held on June 21. Awami League nominated candidate Anwaruzzaman won the post of mayor there.
It is known that the outgoing mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury will hand over the responsibility to the newly elected mayor Anwaruzzman Chowdhury at the mayor’s office at Nagar Bhaban around 2.30 pm.
Before this, councilors under the leadership of Bad Johor Mayor Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury will visit the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA). After the special prayers there, they will go to Nagar Bhaban before half past two.
On the eve of taking charge, Mayor Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury thanked and thanked the people of Sylhet and asked for everyone’s prayers. He said, I am blessed with the love of people from all walks of life in the spiritual city. My sincere gratitude to all. I want everyone’s prayers and love again. We also want everyone’s cooperation in implementing the election promises.
